Position: 1st Shift Recovery Support - SR Tech Machining

** This position is responsible for fabricating and/or modifying parts to make or repair machine tools or maintain industrial machines.

**** This position offers:
*** Starting pay of $32.20/hr. up to top pay of $45.44/hr.
** Quarterly gain sharing bonus potential
* Additional shift differential for off-shifts

** What You Drive at DTNA
*** Perform physically demanding manufacturing duties including repetitive processes, moderate to heavy lifting, the use of machinery, and following standardized work procedures
* Apply knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, and machining procedures.
* Set up, adjust, and operate many specialized tools to perform precision machining operations (Manual lathes, Mills & Grinders)
* Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines
* Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and calipers.
* Machine and inspect parts to specifications (Tolerances +/- .0005”)
* Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings, and engineering information to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to fabricate products, and determine product dimensions and tolerances
* Select the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in preparation of machining with knowledge of modern cutting tool technology
* Observe and listen to operating machines or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions and tor determine need for adjustments or repairs.
* Ability to work with jigs and fixtures
* Perform a variety of welding processes (Stick, Mig & Tig) on commonly used metals and alloys or various shapes, sizes, thicknesses, etc.
* Lifting Fixture –D14.1 Certification
* Fabrication knowledge of component layout, assembly, automation and the ability to build without prints if necessary
* Electrical knowledge and use of 110-volt single phase through 480-volt 3 phase, wire sizing and routing, use relays and contractors
* Hydraulic knowledge and use of cylinders, pumps, control sequence valves, sizing, pressures, flows, layouts, tube bending and routing
* Pneumatic Systems knowledge and use of cylinders, controls, sizing, pressures and flows
* Controls knowledge and use of PLC controls, relays, switches, safety curtains, panel design and layouts
* Actively participate in improving work area in terms of safety, quality, attendance, productivity, suggestion activities, housekeeping, and throughout
* Use computer systems to access company data associated with the assembly process, utilize drawings, bills of materials and specification sheets in both electronic and hard copy
* Operate various tools and equipment in the area
** Knowledge You Should Bring
*** Must be capable of repetitive hand manipulation, grasping and supporting power & hand tools and other equipment in the area.
* Must be able to stand on concrete for entire shift with repetitive bending, stooping, twisting, reaching and lifting up to 50 pounds with hoist assist
* Must maintain a clean work area.
* Meet quality standards and implement continuous improvement measures
* Cross train on other jobs as required
** Exceptional Candidates Might Have
*** Previous experience in a manufacturing (automotive/trucking) environment
* Blueprint knowledge, experience operating a Mill/Lathe, gauge experience and computer skills.
* Previous mechanical experience
* High School Diploma / GED is preferred and further college education a plus
* CNC Program schooling is preferred
