Safety Coordinator
The Safety & Training Coordinator plays a vital role in developing, implementing, and maintaining workplace safety and training programs within an industrial manufacturing environment. This role ensures compliance with MIOSHA and environmental regulations, proactively reduces workplace risk, and serves as a key resource for employee safety education, incident prevention, and regulatory reporting. The coordinator collaborates closely with plant leadership and employees to foster a strong safety culture while maintaining accurate records and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement workplace safety and training programs.
- Ensure compliance with MIOSHA and environmental regulations.
- Proactively reduce workplace risks and improve safety measures.
- Serve as a key resource for employee safety education and incident prevention.
- Maintain accurate safety records and regulatory reports.
- Collaborate with plant leadership to promote a strong safety culture.
- Proven ability to address safety concerns directly with team members.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Applications.
- Knowledge of safety management and health & safety initiatives.
- Understanding of OSHA 30 and safety training.
Skills & Qualifications
- 2–3 years of experience supporting health and safety initiatives in an industrial or manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Hands‑on experience managing PPE programs and safety supplies.
- Experience maintaining accurate safety and training records, including workers’ compensation documentation, training matrices, and compliance documentation.
This position is located in a metal stamping facility with very large presses, up to 3,000 tons. The role is a first‑shift position starting at 7 AM, with shifts that may range from 8, 10, to 12 hours depending on the workload. Employees are expected to stand, walk, and sit for the duration of their shifts. The facility provides an 8‑hour shift with two ten‑minute breaks and a 60‑minute lunch.
Employees will gain hands‑on experience with metal stamping, and many decisions are made at the local level, offering valuable experience. Vacation benefits include 1–2 weeks of accrued vacation starting after 90 days, with additional options available after the first year.
This is a Permanent position based out of Mount Sterling, KY.
Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $41,600.00 – $52,000.00 / yr. 401K, Dental, Vision, Health.
