Overview

Morris Packaging, LLC is a manufacturer of sustainable, flexible packaging products such as bags, pouches, and rollstock. Morris Packaging provides end-to-end packaging solutions, including design, printing, warehousing, and logistics support.

Position

Warehouse Coordinator (Material Handler) — This is a full-time position on a rotating 12-hour schedule. Days/nights will vary.

Position Summary

The position is responsible for the safe, accurate, and efficient operation of forklifts to load, unload, and transport materials around the facility.

Job Duties
  • Operates forklifts in compliance with company safety regulations and uses RF scanners for receiving, picking, staging, loading, unloading, rotation, and storage of products.
  • Manages daily flow of finished products by modifying space assignments.
  • Confirms availability of product to be shipped by verifying inventory records.
  • Processes products coming off production lines and places them in correct areas.
  • Documents related activities and completes forms and reports.
  • Helps prepare for inventory counts.
  • Ensures proper driver check-in and check-out processes in accordance with SQF standards for incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Conducts daily forklift inspections and follows safe forklift operating procedures.
  • Seeks efficiencies in warehouse operations and makes recommendations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Basic math skills to count products.
  • Ability to become forklift certified (company provided).
  • Good communication and reading skills.
  • Basic computer skills to function in the WMS.
  • Critical thinking and strong organizational and time management skills.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

Physical Demands

The physical demands are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is regularly required to talk and listen, perform tasks requiring manual dexterity, stand or sit for extended periods, and walk long distances. Lift up to 50 pounds to shoulder height. Repetitive motions involving wrists, hands, and fingers.

  • Continuous (6 to 10 hours per day) bending, pushing, pulling, climbing stairs, reaching, lifting and grasping.
  • Continuous (6 to 10 hours per day) standing and walking.
  • Continuous (6 or more hours per day) talking, repetitive motion, hand/wrist movement.
  • Good eyesight and normal hearing.
  • Ability to move and lift objects, frequently 75 lbs.
  • Frequent (1 to 2 hours) working at a computer terminal.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position with rotating shifts. Days and hours of work will vary. Occasional overtime may be required as the job duties demand.

Travel is not required for this position.

Required

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

Starting pay is $21/hour (plus $2 shift differential when/if working nights). Morris Packaging offers a comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees. Benefits may include time off plans, medical coverages, disability coverages, company-paid and voluntary life insurance, 401K with company match, and HSA contributions (when applicable).

Note

The pay range for this role is 21 - 23 USD per hour (Kentucky).
