Machine Operator – 3rd Shift
Greif (Job Requisition #034030) – 3rd Shift (12:00 am – 8:20 am, Sunday–Thursday). Pay: $17.00/hr + $2.00 shift differential.
Key Responsibilities- Monitors blow molding machines and operates the controls.
- Removes plastic parts from the machine by hand and may use steps or platforms.
- Removes flash (excess plastic) and inspects parts for defects.
- Monitors product quality and notifies process technicians or quality personnel.
- Weighs parts as required by work instructions.
- Allows flash to cool then grinds as necessary.
- Grinds defective parts.
- Performs secondary operations as per work instructions.
- Logs into the Shop Floor Monitoring System at shift start, before/after each break, and at shift end.
- Enters rejects into the Shop Floor Monitoring System.
- Packs production parts as shown in the work instruction.
- Communicates effectively with Process Tech, Plant Manager, and other members of Management.
- Follows oral and written instructions and carries out all production tasks.
- Maintains a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times.
- Measures finished parts with precision tools to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Inspects equipment before use, ensures correct setup and alignment, and performs basic maintenance.
- Performs other duties as required and follows safety regulations.
- High school diploma (or equivalent) and up to 2 years of relevant experience.
- Willingness to follow directions and teamwork.
- Ability to interpret and translate job specifications for production machinery.
- Fundamental understanding of production equipment or willingness to learn quickly.
- Bending, twisting, lifting overhead, carrying barrels and lids up to 25 pounds.
- Exposure to excessive hot and cold temperatures.
- Health benefits effective day one.
- Sign‑on bonus after 90 days – $500.
- Eligibility for a pay increase after 90 days.
The pay range for this position is $15.82 – $25.24. Typical new‑hire wage is $17.00 per hour.
