POSITION SUMMARY

This role is responsible for overseeing daily plant operations and leading the employees who support them. The position ensures strong performance across production, quality, safety, communication, and overall operational efficiency.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for smooth operation of entire production process including receiving, evaporating, drying, and bagging
  • Oversee all production aspects of the plant and production workers.
  • Responsible for all product and raw materials produced or received on their shift.
  • Guide and direct warehouse staff when necessary.
  • Ensure all products are manufactured according to instructions and meet testing parameters, documented.
  • Manage all personnel issues during shift.
  • Perform supervisor checklist daily, notify maintenance of equipment issues and follow through.
  • Oversee CIP checks and sanitation of equipment and plant.
  • Confirm wastewater pit operation, enforce safety procedures, train employees, maintain records.
  • Supervise all sanitation, ensure safety, maintain clean appearance, and uphold GMP and HACCP.
  • Assist in preventative maintenance, minimize downtime, troubleshoot to improve efficiency.
  • Be available on call, work outside normal shift and weekends as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
PRODUCTION / SERVICE
  • Train, retain, develop, and monitor all employees in all departments.
  • Provide training and cross training.
  • Complete weekly schedules to control overtime.
  • Ensure products meet company and customer specifications, review data for process capability.
  • Hold people accountable to job performance.
  • Schedule and maintain accurate inventory of finished goods and raw materials.
  • Coordinate ordering, receiving, and monitoring of materials, ingredients, chemicals, and supplies.
  • Issue and follow up on prompt completion of work orders.
  • Collaborate with maintenance on preventative maintenance program.
  • Minimize downtime and troubleshoot for efficiency.
QUALITY
  • Maintain customer satisfaction and good relationships with suppliers, employees, customers.
  • Maintain high level of appearance and pride.
  • Inspect, review, and follow up on all plant and department audits.
  • Identify and address food safety hazards or quality threats, notify supervisor or Quality/Leadership.
  • Attend all required safety and food safety training.
EMPLOYEE RELATIONS
  • Enforce and train employees on company policies, attendance, safety, discipline.
  • Report occurrences to proper department head/plant manager.
  • Monitor progress, performance, capabilities, set realistic expectations.
  • Observe morale and its impact on other departments.
  • Promote EEOC practices and retain qualified employees.
  • Coach direct reports, identify key employees for development.
  • Provide accurate documentation on employee and safety related issues.
COMMUNICATION
  • Communicate professionally across departments, respect all management levels.
  • Address employee concerns promptly, consult HR as needed.
  • Communicate daily with other supervisors and employees on plant issues.
  • Explain changes/modifications, listen to concerns, convey ideas to management.
  • Uphold confidentiality.
  • Possess good listening and presentation skills.
  • Accept criticism professionally, consult before reacting.
  • Provide timely and accurate information to all levels.
  • Follow up on progress of open issues.
  • Maintain positive relationships with other departments.
