Summary

As an Electromechanical field service technician at F.P. Developments, you will train and assist in the fabrication, assembly, electrical wiring, controls programming, and servicing of machines and robots used in primary pharmaceutical manufacturing and hospital pharmacy compounding. You will be a self‑starter, a quick learner, and open to advancement and travel opportunities. You will also participate in our innovation process, offering suggestions around new capability development.

THIS POSITION REQUIRES 15-20% TRAVEL ANNUALLY

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assembling machines and robots:
    • Utilize electrical and mechanical blueprints and schematics to assemble large and small machinery.
    • Collaborate with engineering and fabrication staff to ensure high quality, durable construction.
    • Analyze controls programming for PLC and robot automation to troubleshoot and simplify code structure.
  • Servicing and refurbishing machines and robots (onsite and in the field):
    • Troubleshoot and fix machine issues across mechanical, electrical and controls.
    • Identify and document preventative maintenance procedures for new machines.
    • Inspect mechanical components for wear and electrical panels for loose and missing components and recommend necessary fixes.
    • Replace worn or missing parts and ensure machine functionality.
  • Innovation support
    • Research issues and recommend potential solutions.
    • Stay up to speed with new and emerging technologies applicable to our products.
    • Collaborate across engineering and fabrication departments to select and implement solutions.
Qualifications
  • Education:
    • High school diploma or equivalent with electromechanical and controls programming experience OR
    • Electrical engineering undergraduate experience.
  • Skills:
    • Mechanical aptitude.
    • Basic understanding of electrical schematics/wiring.
    • Basic understanding of PLC programming.
    • Follow through and follow up.
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
    • Attention to detail, ensuring all tasks are completed accurately and on time.
    • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
    • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
