About The Opportunity
The Assembly/Operator Associate is responsible for assembling reusable and recyclable packaging interiors (dunnage) using a variety of hand tools and equipment. This role supports production goals by ensuring all products meet safety, quality, and delivery standards. Assemblies may include plastic corrugate and/or foam components and require attention to detail, teamwork, and flexibility across multiple work cells. Key Duties and Responsibilities- Assemble parts according to print drawings and work instructions.
- Insert completed assemblies into plastic containers.
- Perform self and peer quality inspections throughout the assembly process.
- Immediately report safety concerns or quality issues to the Cell Lead, Set‑Up Technician, or Supervisor.
- Rotate between different work cells and machines as needed during the shift.
- Verify correct parts and materials against work orders prior to assembly.
- Calculate cycle time (takt time) to support production requirements.
- Safely and effectively use basic hand tools, including:
- Rivet gun
- Handheld sonic welder
- Hot air welder
- Glue gun and glue line
- Manual hot wire bender
- Develop operational knowledge of additional equipment, including:
- Baler
- Drill press
- Band saw
- Successfully complete required training, including:
- Print Drawing Training
- Tape Measure Training
- 17–21 Day Training Program
- Accurately complete all required paperwork related to assigned tasks.
- Follow all safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with Standardized Work (STW) documentation.
- Actively participate in Continuous Improvement (CI), 5S, and STW initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required:
- Ability to read print drawings and use a tape measure accurately
- Willingness to work in a manufacturing/production environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality
- Minimum of 6 months of experience in assembly manufacturing and/or as a machine operator
- Sunday Through Thursday
