Position Overview

As a Production Mechanic, you will run and monitor specific equipment on the production line safely and reliably, building foundational technical skills, process discipline, and learning basic equipment performance and quality checks.

The Millersburg plant is a high-volume, fast-paced 24/7/365 manufacturing environment. Crews work 12-hour shifts (6am–6pm / 6pm–6am) four days one week and three days the following week. Schedules rotate from day to night shift every four weeks.

Operational Experience
  • Daily Operations: Ensure continuous production process without interruptions.
  • Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Identify issues, perform basic troubleshooting and preventive maintenance, use hand and power tools for repairs.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct quality checks to ensure products meet specified standards and record results.
  • Safety: Understand importance of safe work practices and follow procedures diligently.
  • Literacy & Communication: Read, write, and comprehend written materials in the local language; communicate and report issues effectively with coworkers and leadership.
  • Attention to Detail: Maintain high standards for all aspects of production.
  • Time Management: Prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Continuous Improvement Mindset: Observe inefficiencies and contribute ideas to improve safety, quality, or flow.
Skills
  • Mechanical aptitude and understanding of mechanical systems and tools.
  • Use of visual and basic measurement tools; basic inspection skills.
  • First‑level stop response; identify and assist in resolving simple line stops or alarms.
  • Basic troubleshooting of common mechanical and graphics issues to minimize downtime.
  • Flexibility and learning agility to rotate between machines and tasks.
  • Knowledge of start‑up and shutdown procedures; follow step‑by‑step instructions and safety protocols.
  • Basic computer skills; use digital tools and systems for communication and task execution.
Accountabilities
  • Operate assigned equipment following standard procedure, ensuring safe and stable operation, and escalating issues as needed.
  • Follow safety protocols, report unsafe conditions, use PPE properly, and participate in safety audits.
  • Identify and report equipment or process abnormalities and inform team leads.
  • Support basic troubleshooting and housekeeping tasks, assist in resolving minor stops, and perform regular cleaning or checks under supervision.
  • Perform visual and dimensional quality checks, execute in‑line inspections, report non‑conformities.
  • Minimize material waste through correct handling and operation.
  • Participate in on‑the‑job training and learning activities to build knowledge of process impact, equipment settings, and quality drivers.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and problem‑solving activities, maintain a clear, organized work area and suggest improvements to routines or ergonomics.
Qualifications & Experience
  • No experience required.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • 2+ years of job‑related experience operating equipment in a technical, mechanical or industrial setting.
  • Working knowledge of basic mechanics, hand tools and measurement gauges.
Hiring Salary Range
  • Salary: $26.15–28.93/hr (determined by applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, and internal equity and market data).
  • Eligible to participate in the annual incentive compensation plan.
