Production Technician - Bake

This position is based at our Hickman, KY facility, with a starting hourly rate of $21.60. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for four quarterly bonus incentives and an additional annual bonus tied to overall business performance. Standard shift for this position is 7:00pm-7:00am on a repeating 2-on, 2-off, 3-on schedule
, however schedule may vary based on operational needs.

As a Production Technician in the Bake Department, you will support the operation of our ring furnace, where large carbon electrodes are baked at high temperatures to achieve the strength and quality Tokai Carbon GE LLC is known for. You'll work in a hands-on,24/7/365 industrial environment where safety, teamwork, and attention to detail are essential.

• Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and mobile equipment to load, move, and position material in and around the ring furnace.
• Assist with furnace pit operations, including covering/uncovering pits, placing/stacking material, and monitoring bake progress.
• Perform general housekeeping to maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Inspect equipment and perform basic mechanical tasks to keep tools and machinery in safe working condition.
• Follow all safety procedures related to heat exposure, confined spaces, mobile equipment, and carbon materials.
• Recognize and troubleshoot routine operational issues and communicate concerns promptly. Complete required documentation and maintain accurate production records.
• Adapt to changing priorities and work environments.
• Work in conditions that can be hot (especially during summer months) and dusty or dirty due to carbon materials and furnace operations. This position will regularly be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, and will work near loud moving mechanical parts.
• Work nights, weekends, and overtime as required to support production needs.

• Experience in a manufacturing role with the use of hand/power tools (experience in mechanical, electrical, automotive repairs, construction, carpentry, or other similar environments will be considered).

• High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.
• Experience working in heavy industrial environments, hot-work areas, or furnace operations.
• Basic computer skills

• Ability to work well with minimal supervision.
• Ability to read and understand basic instructions, safety information, and work orders.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate clearly in all forms.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly and move or maneuver up to 100 pounds.
• Ability to work comfortably at different heights.
• Must be able to work overtime as required.
• Must be willing to cross-train and flex back into areas where you have demonstrated competency.
