The ERW Tube Mill Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining Electric Resistance Welded (ERW) tube mill equipment to produce high-quality steel tubes according to specifications. This role involves setting up machinery, monitoring production processes, performing quality checks, and ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Operate ERW tube mill equipment, including setup, calibration, and adjustments to meet production specifications.
Perform regular inspections of tubes to ensure they meet dimensional, weld, and surface quality standards.
Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting of tube mill equipment to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
Load raw materials (steel coils) into the mill and manage finished product output.
Monitor production parameters such as welding temperature, speed, and pressure to maintain consistent output.
Adhere to all safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and lockout/tagout procedures.
Record production data, maintenance logs, and quality control results accurately.
Work closely with supervisors, quality control personnel, and other operators to meet production goals.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in manufacturing or mechanical systems preferred.
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience operating ERW tube mills or similar manufacturing equipment.
- Knowledge of ERW tube manufacturing processes and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Familiarity with quality control tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers).
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, industrial environment.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
