Sanitor Position
Reports to the Sanitation Supervisor and is responsible for completing all duties and tasks assigned to them before their work shift ends. The purpose of the Sanitor is to aid in the breakdown, cleaning/disinfecting, and reassembly of the food production equipment to ensure all food safety standards are being maintained. This position works a non-traditional work schedule where weekends are part of the expected work week.

Qualifications:

Education and/or experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED):
Related training, or at least one month of related experience. Should be mechanically inclined with an emphasis on disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly of processing equipment.
Training requirements:
To perform this job assignment an individual must meet the required job specific training located in the Training Register.
Language skills:
Must be able to read, write and communicate in English as it relates to the job and the safety regulations.
Mathematical skills:
Basic math skills.
Reasoning ability:
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out simple one or two step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
Physical demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee frequently is required to walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to adjust focus.
Work environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is sometimes exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is frequently exposed to extreme cold, extreme heat, and vibration. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and potential exposure to sulphuric acid (electric battery), potential exposure to carbon monoxide from propane fueled forklift.
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
