Salary Range: $70,000.00 To $80,000.00 Annually
Reporting to the Production Manager, the Production Supervisor will oversee a team of approximately 20 unionized employees. The Supervisor is responsible for meeting production schedules and implementing all necessary actions to achieve product quality, efficiency, and cost objectives in a safe working environment.
The role follows a 12-hour schedule (weekdays or weekends, not rotating). In close collaboration with departments such as Quality Control, Sanitation, Warehouse, Maintenance, R&D, and Human Resources, the Supervisor will manage various aspects of production operations.
Main Responsibilities- Plan, coordinate, and supervise all activities during the shift.
- Ensure compliance with production schedules and deadlines.
- Monitor production line performance and reduce losses (weights, processes, waste).
- Apply and enforce standards: SQF, GMP, work instructions, documentation, sanitation, and health & safety.
- Collaborate with the Production Technician to optimize workforce utilization.
- Follow up on equipment status with the Maintenance department and report urgent issues.
- Identify and manage training needs in collaboration with the Training Coordinator.
- Manage absenteeism, discipline, and collective agreement compliance.
- Conduct accident investigations and complete related reports.
- Maintain a healthy and collaborative work environment through effective communication.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects and ensure proper shift handovers.
- Handle administrative duties for the team, including payroll.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a supervisor in the food industry.
- College (DEC) in food processing or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
- Good understanding of food industry sanitation and safety standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Leadership, autonomy, sound judgment, and initiative.
- Excellent communication skills in a multicultural environment.
