Scope:
The Packaging Engineering Master Data Analyst provides technical and administrative support to Heartland Food Products packaging projects and master data daily workflows by supporting packaging development activities, maintaining packaging master data, and supporting continuous improvement as directed. This is a key support services role responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of packaging/product data, packaging specifications, documentation, reviewing die lines applied to artwork and product data throughout the packaging lifecycle.
Packaging project support includes documenting packaging testing, shelf-life studies, production data analysis, packaging validation support and coordination with vendor partners. This position plays an important role in ensuring packaging and data information is accurate, changes are executed efficiently, and new packaging products are successfully introduced into production. The position is primarily office based but approximately 30-40% of the time will be spent supporting packaging validations, product trials, manufacturing observations, and implementation activities in the production environment.
The Packaging Engineering Master Data Analyst has key daily workflows that will support successful commercialization of products for Heartland.
Essential Duties and
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Senior Packaging Manager with packaging development, optimization, commercialization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate packaging, product, and master data throughout the product lifecycle, including new product introductions, engineering changes, and product discontinuations, ensuring data integrity across ERP/PLM and related business systems.
- Develop, maintain, and control packaging specifications, product documentation, bills of materials (BOMs), testing records, engineering files, and technical documentation.
- Coordinate packaging validations, shelf-life testing, product trials, and implementation activities while documenting results and supporting successful commercialization.
- Analyze packaging and production performance data, prepare reports and dashboards, and identify trends and opportunities that support engineering decisions and operational improvements.
- Collaborate with Packaging Engineering, Product Development, Quality, Operations, Purchasing, Commercialization, and suppliers to support product launches, packaging changes, and material management.
- Coordinate and monitor cross-functional workflows for new product introductions and product changes, ensuring timely approvals, accurate documentation, and effective communication.
- Support production on the manufacturing floor conducting packaging trials, process observations, validations, and data collection.
