PositionSummary
Operates strapping station, forklift, andrelievesoperators in the production of tagged, counted, and strapped units of board. Offloads units from the strapperout feed conveyor and stages in designated area. Trains new and replacement employees andparticipatesin safety programs.
- Assists in inspecting strappingstationfor proper operation daily. This includes:
Strapping, Tensioning tool, 2 x 4 runner adjustment station, and Stack heights. - Assistsin the operation of strapper to secure strapping around units of finished panels and monitors continuously (while operating), conformance to standardsrelativeto:
Prints unit tag out of Shop Floor System, Skid placement
Strap tension, Unit tagging, Piece count in units, Damage to units, Adjustment of bundles on conveyors and rolls, and Paint station - Notifies and assists
Finishing Operatorwhere deficiencies are noted so the problem can be corrected by:
Straightening crooked boards on saw line, Clearing jammed stickers, Feeding saw line with takeout material, Checking grade stamp on boards, and Cleaning paint station. - Moves freight, stock, raw materials, finished goods, and other materials to and from storage and production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles by hand and a variety of mobile equipment and various typesand sizes of forklifts.
- Regrades damaged boards and bundlesidentifiesby the Quality Assurance Technician inregradearea.
- Replaces boards in unit bundles after Quality Assurance Technician takes samples and replacesunitin storage.
- Protects the safety of Company personnel, contractors, and visitors bymaintaininga safe and clean working environment through compliance with procedures,rulesand regulations.
- Maintains customer confidence by routinely inspectingconditionof manufactured material. Is familiar with product specifications. Understands company inspection and release processes. Detects and reports defective material and/or questionable conditions to Finishing Operator and/or Supervisor.
- Ensures proper operation of paint booth to ensure finished bundles are properly edge sealed. Cleans spray nozzles and paintboothand notifies Supervisor and/or Maintenance personnel when problems arise. Mayassistin preventative maintenance on maintenance day.
- Achieves workobjectivesby reading, interpreting, and applying complex written documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions and standard operating procedures.
- Performs general physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs, moving whole body and multilimbed coordination
- Performs other duties as may be assigned.
High School Diploma or GED
0 to 3 Years Manufacturing Experience
Forklift experience preferred
Must be able to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays per shift schedule
