Location: Independence, MO

Salary: $67,800 - $75,000 depending on experience.
Schedule: 4 – 10 hour shifts, with overtime as needed. Weekdays

Focus: The MRO Parts/Tooling Lead is responsible for managing inventory, tooling, spare parts, and crib operations to ensure maintenance and production teams have the materials needed to support safe, efficient, and uninterrupted operations. This position maintains inventory accuracy, leads crib personnel, supports receiving activities, analyzes inventory data, and identifies opportunities to improve processes and control costs.

MRO Parts/Tooling Lead

Job Functions:
  • Manage MRO Inventory & Tooling: Maintain and manage crib inventory, tooling, spare parts, and supplies while ensuring accuracy between physical inventory, the WMS, and the system of record; perform cycle counts and resolve discrepancies.
  • Lead Crib Operations: Lead, coach, and support crib team members while ensuring compliance with established processes, safety requirements, and inventory control procedures.
  • Handle Materials & Deliveries: Safely operate forklifts and box trucks to receive, transport, stage, and deliver MRO materials, including supporting time-sensitive and high-priority deliveries.
  • Optimize Inventory & Processes: Analyze inventory and operational data to optimize stocking levels, improve material availability, reduce excess inventory, and identify opportunities for process and capital efficiency improvements.
  • Reporting & Communication: Utilize Excel, Word, PowerPoint, WMS, and other systems to maintain records, analyze data, prepare reports, and communicate operational findings and recommendations.
MRO Parts/Tooling Lead

Minimum Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Tool Crib Attendant, MRO inventory specialist, warehouse/materials professional, or related position.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point .
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and effectively provide direction, instruction, and support to others.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, communication, and inventory control skills.
Location-Specific Requirements:
  • Must possess a Valid US driver’s license.
  • This position requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
  • This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, if required.
  • This position requires successful vetting for unescorted access in accordance with U.S. Army and Department of Defense access policies. The US Government does not allow non-US citizens on-site at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant. Therefore, to be considered in the hiring process, the candidate must be a US citizen.
