River Point Farms is seeking an experienced Sanitation Lead to join our onion processing team!

Summary:

The Sanitation Lead provides day‑to‑day leadership for sanitation operations, ensuring sanitation activities are completed safely, effectively, and on schedule. This role coordinates work assignments, supports training and performance of the sanitation team, and serves as a key link between Sanitation, Production, Maintenance, and Food Safety.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and coordinate daily sanitation activities to ensure production areas and equipment are clean, sanitary, and ready for operations.
• Assign work, communicate priorities, and provide clear instructions to Sanitation team members.
• Monitor work execution to ensure compliance with food safety programs, sanitation standards, and safety requirements.
• Train and support sanitation team members; reinforce proper procedures, PPE use, and documentation.
• Verify completion of sanitation tasks and review sanitation documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Serve as the first point of contact for sanitation‑related issues.
• Coordinate with maintenance regarding equipment issues, breakdowns, or unsafe conditions.
• Enforce compliance with company policies, OSHA requirements, food safety programs, and applicable customer requirements.
• Model a strong safety culture and take corrective action as needed.
• Support sanitation audits, inspections, and corrective action follow‑up.
• Provide input on employee performance to supervision.
• Perform hands‑on sanitation work as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 4+ years of food‑plant sanitation experience, including leadership or lead responsibilities.
• Strong working knowledge of sanitation programs, food safety programs, and safe chemical handling and dilution practices.
• Ability to lead teams, communicate effectively across all levels of the organization, and solve problems in real time.
• Ability to complete and review sanitation documentation accurately.
• Certification or advanced training in sanitation, food safety, or safety programs a plus.
