PURPOSE

Instructs trainees in all press operations; evaluates and reports to Production Supervisor. Continuously improves overall operator skill, knowledge, technique and performance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Utilizes training checklist and documents appropriate data; records information for daily work activities.
• Instructs new operators on methods & procedures, documentation requirements, non-conforming products and materials, policy & procedures and safety.
• Advises Supervisor of trainees work habits, attitude and progress achieved.
• Explains quality standards and how to identify good and defective product.
• Provides quality training for personnel when quality rejections or repeat quality rejections are issued.
• Makes suggestions on improving work procedures.
• Selects or develops teaching aids such as visual aids, reference materials and training videos.
• Generates and maintain training documentation on individual operators to include specific part processes, secondary operations training and any additional training required.
• Assists in relieving press operators or other qualified production operations for lunch and breaks as directed.
• Participates in continuous improvement with ideas and suggestions that would improve cost effectiveness, enhance general work conditions, and ensure safe working conditions.
• Has the authority to stop the process if a safety or a quality issue arises in order to inform supervision to make a decision.
• Observes all environmental, safety & health rules prescribed by the Company; wear safety equipment as required; keep work area maintained in a neat and orderly condition.
• Must be bilingual
