Rolling Product Development Lab Chemist

• Work in a fast-paced laboratory environment focused on the development, testing, and improvement of metalworking and rolling lubricant products.
• Partner with cross-functional teams including Product Development, Quality Control, Operations, Purchasing, Marketing, and EHS to support business objectives.
• Interact with suppliers and customers to support product development, technical problem-solving, and product implementation activities.
• Contribute to innovation initiatives, product performance improvements, and the development of new testing methods and technologies.
• Support the introduction of new products and provide technical assistance for manufacturing and customer applications.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation while protecting proprietary and confidential information.
• Operate in a competitive industry that requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality and safety.
• Participate in technical training, supplier presentations, industry conferences, and continuous learning opportunities to stay current on industry trends and emerging technologies.
• Manage multiple projects and priorities while supporting both short-term operational needs and long-term product development goals
• Conduct laboratory testing, product evaluations, and formulation development for metalworking and rolling lubricant products.
• Develop, optimize, and improve product formulations to meet customer requirements, industry standards, and regulatory expectations.
• Analyze and interpret laboratory data and prepare technical reports and recommendations.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment while ensuring accurate and reliable test results.
• Support new product introductions, manufacturing trials, and product implementation activities.
• Provide technical support for production issues, product performance concerns, and customer inquiries.
• Collaborate with Product Development, Quality Control, Operations, Marketing, Purchasing, suppliers, and customers on development projects.
• Assist in identifying and evaluating new technologies, raw materials, and market opportunities.
• Document technical findings and maintain accurate records in accordance with company standards.
• Participate in innovation initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
• Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, quality, and regulatory requirements.
• Support efforts to improve product performance, manufacturing efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related scientific field.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of relevant experience in a laboratory, product development, quality, or manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of chemistry principles and laboratory testing techniques.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a team environment.

• Experience with lubricant formulation, metalworking fluids, industrial chemicals, or specialty chemical products.
• Knowledge of analytical chemistry, product formulation, and performance testing.
• Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Familiarity with technical data analysis and report preparation.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing business needs.

Compensation: $57,750 to $65,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.

• This position is based in Rockingham, NC.
• Candidates must currently reside within commuting distance of Rockingham, NC or be willing to relocate at their own expense.
