Job DescriptionThe Press Product Engineering Technologist will work as a member of a project team performing technical laboratory work through digital imaging, quality testing, characterizing trial fabrics, and some Press Project work, with support from the local R&D team. Data trending for changes in raw materials for specifications, fabric process measurements and trial field tracking will also be required. Limited travel to observe manufacturing processes.
Analysis of current application specifications in order to reduce complexity is another facet of this position. Ability to create and maintain designs in SAP generating quotes and order entry and associated tasks. Albany International is an Equal Opportunity Employer including Veterans and Disabled.

Experience/Education/SkillsESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Conducts laboratory tests and/or manufacturing trials on multiple projects both independently and as a team member
- Generates technical reports
- Delivers written and/oral presentations
- Developing an understanding of the marketplace and processes
- Produces documents, summarizes and reports laboratory data in support of an assigned Product Development project
- Work on new product development and standardization of processes within press
- Gathers data from field, lab and manufacturing
- Use knowledge and understanding of the laboratory equipment and testing processes to suggest solutions to problems encountered in manufacturing
- Tracks field trials provide data and summary of results

REQUIREMENTS
Required Skills:
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and Outlook.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail, organized, able to follow procedures and maintain records.
- Self-motivated, resourceful, able to prioritize and conduct analyses independently.
- Problem solver, critical thinking and deductive reasoning skills.
- Demonstrate analytic skills and technical writing ability.
- Willingness to acquire new skills.
Required Experience:
- 2 or more years of experience working in a quality or testing lab setting
- Previous Technical work with knowledge of SAP preferred but not required
Education Requirements:
Two year degree or equivalent experience
