Job Description

Product Marketing holds responsibility to be the core of business at CHANEL Japan Fragrance & Beauty Products Division, to drive both brand equity and sustainable business growth. To achieve this responsibility, it is necessary to have a deep understanding of the skincare business in Japan, strong brand-building capabilities, and the ability to drive engagement and sales. The role requires collaboration with internal stakeholders, leading the marketing mix for local strategy, and providing insights to the global marketing team.

The Skincare Marketing Manager is responsible for the following:

  • Develop and lead mid-term strategy to enhance brand image and sales.
  • Analyze the competitive landscape to identify growth opportunities and gaps.
  • Lead new product launch planning and demand forecasting, and supervise execution.
  • Manage product lifecycle, assortment, and pricing.
  • Oversee VMD, SPM, merchandising guidelines, and visual assets.
  • Ensure brand image, tone, and positioning are consistently represented at every touchpoint.
  • Support and execute plans in partnership with Event, CRM, PR, Digital, Education, and Retail teams to ensure unity and execution quality.
  • Manage and validate promotion expenses and optimize return on investment.
  • Elevate services and collaborate with key stakeholders.
  • Create and implement presentations for internal use and to HQ.
  • Manage and guide the skincare marketing planner to align and engage with the brand vision.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in beauty product marketing with prior team leadership.
  • Experience in product development or Research & Innovation (R&I).
  • Leadership ability to align stakeholders and drive toward goals.
  • Strong sense of responsibility and sound judgment.
  • Analytical and holistic thinking; fast learner; comfortable with ambiguity.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong project management capabilities.
  • Skilled in presentation and negotiation in both Japanese and English.
  • Familiarity with digital marketing.
