Marketing Coordinator (Marketing Communications Professional II) Position Description

Under general supervision of the Associate Director of Marketing, Digital Engagement and Brand Strategy, the Marketing Coordinator creates engaging content and develops, coordinates, and implements integrated marketing and communications plans that support student recruitment, retention, brand awareness, and community engagement for the university. Working independently and collaboratively on most day-to-day assignments with general supervision, this position serves as a marketing liaison for assigned campus departments and programs, coordinating marketing initiatives from concept through implementation while ensuring alignment with university priorities, brand standards, accessibility requirements, and marketing and communications best practices with accountability for own work results.
This position collaborates with university leadership, faculty, staff, students, and external partners to develop effective marketing campaigns and continuously improve marketing performance through data-informed decision-making. The position requires significant collaboration, both internally and externally, and is responsible for executing considerable judgment and discretion in ensuring communications and processes promote engagement and inclusive strategies are incorporated.

KeyQualifications
Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a related field and two years of relevant experience. Additional experience which demonstrates acquired and successfully applied knowledge and abilities shown above may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis. An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis. In addition, strong written and verbal communication skills with a solid foundation in grammar, spelling, and the composition of various communication vehicles are required.
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration/Marketing/Communications and Media Studies or a related field highly preferred. Higher education experience highly preferred. Advanced proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) required. Knowledge of Google Suite, Photoshop, ln Design, Adobe Creative Suite, web publishing software, and the ability to use a variety of software for demographic analysis and surveys to support marketing efforts is preferred.
This is a full time, exempt position, which will lead toward permanent status following the successful completion of a probationary period. Step placement will be determined based on relevant qualifications and professional experience. The step range for this position is $5,178 - $5,717 per month (step 1 - step
6). The CSU Classification Step Range for this position is $5,178 - $7,543 per month (step 1 - step 20).
