Marketing, Promotion & Social Media Intern (Federal Work-Study Only) Company OverviewKey Responsibilities:
You will directly influence how FAU innovations transition from the lab to the real world.
Duties include:
- Market Research & Commercialization Analysis:
Work within your team to assess the market potential and competitive landscape for novel technologies (ranging from low-tech to hard-tech, products, and services). Provide data-backed recommendations to researchers on how to best position their inventions. - Spin-out Startup Support:
Partner with faculty members looking to launch spin out startups, assisting them with business plans and marketing preparation for their official launch. - B2B Marketing & Asset Creation:
Develop high-impact promotional materials (such as non-confidential technology briefs and pitch decks) designed to pitch FAU research capabilities and innovations to corporations, government entities, and investors looking to license or invest. - Social Media Strategy & Execution:
Co-create and execute a comprehensive social media strategy and digital campaigns to elevate OTD's presence and highlight university breakthroughs. - Operational Support:
Handle baseline market research data entry and
administrative tasks essential to keeping our innovation pipeline moving smoothly.

Position Type: Part-Time Internship (limited to work studies award, 10–20 hours/week, flexible around classes)
Timeline: Full Academic Year 2026–2027 (Fall & Spring semesters, contingent on ongoing FWS eligibility)

Eligibility: Must qualify for the Federal Work-Study (FWS) program

Who You Are (Desired Skills & Qualifications)
We are looking for proactive team players who can translate innovations
(products/services) into catchy, impactful marketing materials, thrive in a hybrid environment, and manage a project from concept to final delivery.
- Academic & Program Eligibility:
Currently enrolled FAU undergraduate or graduate student. Must have a confirmed Federal Work-Study (FWS) award for the year. - Strategic & Analytical Thinker:
Ability to dissect complex technical concepts, look at market data, and derive actionable business recommendations. - Communicator:
Professional content writing and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex data into compelling business language. - Creative & Design
Skills:
Experience with graphic layout tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) to produce clean, professional marketing assets. - Project Ownership:
Highly organized with management skills; able to work within an assigned team, meet strict deadlines, and provide polished final outputs.
