Athletic Communications Student Assistant
Winthrop Position Title Athletic Communications Student Assistant
Job PurposeTo assist in the day-to-day responsibilities of the communications office as well as working official athletic events. Gain experience in the general understanding of athletic communications for an NCAA Division I athletic department.
Duties and Responsibilities- Assist in preparation and execution of official athletic events
- Learn or work with official stats and the official stat programs of the NCAA
- Assist communications team in official game duties (stats/clip highlights/game graphics/etc.)
- Help create and execute creative/digital content ideas
- Support in day-to-day operations of the communications office in collaboration with the external team
- Help maintain statistics and record books as well as writing press releases, feature stories or game recaps
- Flexibility to work nights and weekends
- Strong desire to work in collegiate athletics
- Proficient skills in but not limited to Microsoft suite programs, Adobe In-Design & Photoshop, social media (X/Facebook/IG)
