Select Sires, Inc. is currently seeking candidates to join our team as a Dairy Sire Marketing Intern. This temporary full-time, hourly, non-exempt position is at our Plain City, OH facility and reports to the Sr. Vice-President of Genetic Programs and Research, Chuck Sattler.
Specific duties and responsibilities of a Dairy Sire Marketing Intern include, but are not limited to,
- Serve as a positive representation of the Select Sires, Inc. Mission and Core Values.
- Assist the sire department with gathering information and maintaining data to prepare bulls for their marketing career.
- Assist the marketing department with preparing cattle for photography, including selecting, clipping, grooming, and fitting cattle.
- Carry out a project to provide insight about bull development or a bull’s future marketing capabilities.
A Dairy Sire Marketing Intern's work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM. Work schedules and duties are subject to change to meet departmental needs.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES
OF A DAIRY SIRE MARKETING INTERN:
- Reliable means of transportation to report to work on time
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
- Willingness to travel overnight
- A positive attitude with a passion for learning
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
OF A DAIRY SIRE MARKETING INTERN:
- A working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
- Familiarity with dairy cattle pedigrees and genetic evaluations
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Enrollment in a post-secondary dairy science, animal science, agricultural business or other related area of study
- Experience clipping dairy cattle
- Seldomly (0-1 hours) floor lift (0-17") ; knee lift (18"

-60"), overhead lift (>60"), push/pull or carry up to 20 lbs. - Seldomly (0-1 hours) climb stairs, squat/kneel, crawl, twist or bend/stoop
