Social Media & Content Creator

This is a part-time position with room to grow. As our Social Media & Content Creator, you’ll be the voice, lens, and creative engine behind The Overlook’s digital presence. You’ll capture what makes this place special — the community, the movement, the culture — and translate it into content that connects, converts, and keeps people coming back.

You’re not just scheduling posts. You’re building something.

• Develop and execute a consistent content calendar across Instagram and Facebook.
• Shoot, edit, and publish original photo and video content — gym culture, movement, events, community moments.
• Write compelling captions, stories, and copy that reflect The Overlook’s voice: energetic, inclusive, and authentic.
• Create and manage reels and short-form video content that grows our reach.
• Engage meaningfully with followers, comments, DMs, and tagged content.

• Support email and SMS campaigns as needed (graphics, copy, visuals) in partnership with leadership.
• Design and produce digital and print collateral for events, promotions, and programs using Canva or similar tools.
• Assist with event marketing — build hype before, capture it during, and extend it after.
• Help develop and maintain brand consistency across all digital touchpoints.
• Track performance metrics (reach, engagement, follower growth, conversions) and share regular insights.
• Stay ahead of platform trends, algorithm shifts, and content opportunities in the climbing + fitness space.
• Bring fresh ideas to the table — and execute on them.

• Available to work in the gym a minimum 12-15 hours per week with room for growth or potential additional responsibilities.
• You are an active climber — you understand the culture, the movement, and what makes this community tick.
• You have a portfolio or examples of social media / content work you’ve done professionally or for a brand/organization.
• You’re self-directed and don’t need someone looking over your shoulder to get things done.
• You care about this industry and are genuinely excited to work in it.
• 1–3+ years of experience in social media management, content creation, or digital marketing.
• Strong photo and video skills — you know how to capture a moment and know what looks good.
• Canva experience for graphics and collateral design.
