Founded in 1979, the National Immigration Law Center (NILC) is a leading non‑profit organization (501(c)(3)) in the U.S. exclusively dedicated to defending and advancing the rights and opportunities of low‑income immigrants and their loved ones. NILC’s mission is grounded in the belief that everyone living in the U.S. regardless of race, gender/gender identity, immigration status, or economic status — should have equal access to justice, resources, and educational and economic opportunities that enable them to achieve their full human potential.
Together, NILC and the affiliated NILC Immigrant Justice Fund (IJF), a 501(c)(4) organization, work to advocate more directly for immigrant justice including direct federal immigration policy reform. NILC is committed to advancing its mission — which intersects race, immigration status, and class — through racial, economic, and gender justice and equity orientation.
The Senior Strategist, Digital Communications (Sr. Strategist) supports the development and execution of digital strategies for NILC and NILC’s sister 501(c)4 organization. The Sr. Strategist is responsible for planning, executing, and optimizing digital content across NILC’s platforms with an emphasis on graphic design and video content production. The Sr. Strategist manages the social media content and publishing calendar, email content and calendar, and digital ads program, explores innovative ways to drive audience engagement and growth across digital platforms;
and monitors the performance of digital efforts. The Sr. Strategist will create and post digital content to uplift the stories of NILC, its programs and campaigns, and the clients and communities NILC serves as a means of amplifying the organization’s crucial legal, research, organizing, and advocacy interests.
The Sr. Strategist, Digital Communications will be responsible for providing leadership and driving success in the following key areas:
Specific Position Responsibilities Content Production and Planning- Produce visual content such as content such as social media graphics, infographics, videos, and design elements for digital platforms.
- Create, edit, and oversee NILC and IJF’s digital platforms and tactics, including websites, email programs, blogs and social media accounts, ensuring a consistent organizational voice.
- Develop and publish content and incorporate all digital outposts and tactics (e.g., influencer partnerships, social media, email program, and digital ads, etc.) daily, and maintain content calendars.
- Identify high-impact opportunities to increase brand visibility of NILC and IJF’s advocacy, programmatic, and movement building work, and grow digital audiences.
- Identify and execute creative and culturally relevant distribution tactics to innovate how we use social media and other digital accounts, promote our content, and engage with our audiences.
- Cultivate relationships with partners and social media influencers to amplify engagement with NILC and IJF’s social media and other digital content, developing & executing free and paid campaigns.
- Manage and develop strategy and content for advocacy components of NILC and IJF’s supporter email list engagement.
