About Happy Robot
Happy Robot is the infrastructure for enterprises to build and orchestrate AI work forces. Our AI workers don't just communicate - they make decisions, take action, and run operations autonomously across voice, email, and enterprise systems. Born in Y Combinator (S23) and backed by a16z and Base
10 with over $60M raised, we power critical operations for global enterprises worldwide.
Our platform is battle-tested in the most demanding environments - where AI has real consequences. We started in logistics, built our own voice stack, models, and orchestration layer from the ground up, and are now bringing that infrastructure to every enterprise that runs the real economy. ABOUTTHE ROLE
This is a PR and communications-focused role based in San Francisco, reporting directly to the Head of Marketing. Comms is a small, newly formed function at Happy Robot, and we're looking for someone to help define how the world perceives us as we expand our footprint beyond logistics into every enterprise that runs the real economy, across our key markets in the US, Europe, and LATAM.
You'll work closely with Marketing, Growth, and founders to shape the narrative around Happy Robot — from breaking news and executive visibility to how we show up in the press, on stage, and across media channels. This role is built for someone with a solid track record who's ready to own PR and communications strategy independently, without needing to build the function from a blank page or manage a team on day one.
WHATYOU'LL DO
Shape perceptions of Happy Robot with strategies, stories, and announcements that advance how the world thinks about us
Build and maintain relationships with journalists, editors, and analysts across tech, business, and logistics/enterprise trade media
Package company news, product launches, and customer wins into pitches that secure meaningful media coverage
Work closely with founders and subject-matter experts across the company to translate technical work into compelling narratives for specific audiences (e.g., building awareness with enterprise operations leaders)
Manage company news and announcements across owned channels (blog, press, and email) and ensure consistent tone and brand voice
Prioritize and manage inbound speaking, podcast, and award opportunities
- Manage relationships with any external PR agencies or freelance support, and introduce systems that keep communications running smoothly as the company scales
- Partner with Content and Growth to align PR moments with broader marketing campaigns
5-8 years of experience in PR, communications, or journalism, ideally with in-house experience at a B2B tech or AI company
A track record of securing meaningful, high-quality media coverage and existing relationships with relevant journalists and outlets
Excellent writing skills — precise and compelling across press releases, pitches, executive talking points, and social content
Strong news judgment and the ability to spot and shape a story from technical or otherwise dense material
Comfort working independently and moving fast in a lean, fast-paced environment
- Genuine interest in AI and how it's being deployed and received by the world
Experience in logistics, supply chain, utilities, energy, telco, insurance, airlines, or other industrial/operations-heavy enterprise verticals
Experience managing external PR agencies or freelance support
Familiarity with executive visibility programs (speaking engagements, awards, byline placement)
Comfort using AI tools to move faster on drafting, research, and reporting
Opportunity to work at a high-growth AI startup
