Marketing, Outreach, and Publications Coordinator Performing Arts Center

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for coordinating all marketing materials, plans and publications for Adelphi University Performing Arts Center (PAC) performances. Also responsible for developing and overseeing various initiatives to increase the audience for all Adelphi PAC public performances.

SALARY INFORMATION:

In compliance with New York’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $50,000 - $55,000. Adelphi University considers factors such as departmental budgets, scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

An annual base salary higher than the range may be warranted in circumstances where a candidate has demonstrable equivalent prior higher education experience at another University.

REPORTS TO:

Executive Director

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

Coordinate the design and implementation of marketing plans including print and online materials for public performances at Adelphi PAC for guest artists and Dance, Music and Theatre departmental productions.

Manage and supervise the production of all materials including programs, posters, flyers and other printed and digital materials using various University resources including U-Comm and student designers.

Create and send a weekly marketing email to existing PAC audience members.

Hire, supervise and train a team of student graphic designers, photographers and a social media manager.

Work directly with the design team and necessary departments to supervise the creation of various materials from concept to execution.

Coordinate and manage the information gathering and proofing process for all Adelphi PAC materials (online and print) related to performances including internal and external approvals.

Ensure all materials are completed in a timely manner based on a pre-determined schedule.

Complete projects by coordinating with outside agencies, art services, printers, etc. in consultation with other University units including U-Comm and others.

Coordinate photography and videography of performances and other activities for archival purposes and future promotional use.

Work with Executive Director and others to increase the visibility of Adelphi PAC and its programs throughout the region to grow awareness and attendance through various efforts.

REQUIREMENTS: (Knowledge, skills and abilities)

Graphic design and layout, creativity, flexibility, attention to detail, deadline oriented, desktop publishing skills, responds well to criticism, ability to coordinate and adhere to complex schedules, personnel and budget management, excellent interpersonal skills, ability to prioritize workload according to volume and urgency and delegate when necessary.

Proficient with Mac OS, Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, etc.), Social Media Management tools (like Buffer), and email tools (like MyEmma).

EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree is preferred.

Minimum of three years’ experience working in Graphic Design and advertising/marketing related fields.
