Essential Functions

The Social Media & Content Intern will help tell the story of the University of Nebraska Omaha Hockey program through creative, authentic, and engaging digital content. This position will play an important role in showcasing our players, coaches, culture, and the Omaha Hockey experience while strengthening the program’s brand and supporting recruiting efforts.

This is an excellent opportunity for a creative, motivated individual who understands social media, enjoys visual storytelling, and can create content that connects with today’s audience.

• Create, edit, and publish engaging content across Omaha Hockey’s social media platforms
• Capture and produce video-first content from practices, games, team events, and everyday moments within the program
• Showcase our players, coaches, culture, and personality through compelling storytelling
• Create short-form video content for Instagram, Tik Tok, and other social platforms
• Develop content that supports recruiting and strengthens the Omaha Hockey brand
• Stay current with social media trends and bring new creative ideas to the program

Work Schedule Varies
- Includes Nights and Weekends

Required Qualifications

• Flexible scheduling around class commitments and team activities
• Attendance at practices, games, and team events required
• Evening and weekend availability required

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience creating content for a sports team or athletic organization
• Experience with video editing software
• Knowledge of hockey and collegiate athletics
• Strong video storytelling and editing skills
• Understanding of current social media platforms, trends, and content styles
• Creative, organized, reliable, and able to work independently
• Strong communication and time-management skills
• Passion for sports, storytelling, and digital media
