Digital & Social Media Coordinator

The City of Round Rock’s Parks and Recreation Department is seeking an innovative, community-minded Digital & Social Media Coordinator to elevate the visibility, engagement, and impact of our programs, events, and initiatives. This role is ideal for a creative storyteller who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and is confident engaging directly with our residents, local partners, and businesses.

Under general supervision, the Digital & Social Media Coordinator is responsible for executing a comprehensive digital marketing strategy that includes social media management, website updates, email marketing, digital advertising, and the creation of compelling community-focused content. This position plays a key role in shaping the department’s brand voice and strengthening connections throughout the Round Rock community.

• Develop and manage the department’s Social Media Optimization (SMO) strategy.
• Plan, create, and publish content across department social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, and X (formerly Twitter).
• Implement effective strategies to engage audiences, enhance brand presence, and respond to inquiries promptly.
• Track analytics to refine campaigns, measure performance, and prepare departmental reports.
• Coordinate with business, industry, and social media influencers to expand reach and build meaningful partnerships.
• Direct, produce, and edit marketing video content, including promotional videos and short-form reels.
• Lead digital advertising strategies, including paid social media campaigns, to increase visibility.
• Attend and capture content at special events and programs, delivering timely photo and video edits for recap posts and social-first storytelling.

• Outgoing, personable communicator who is genuinely comfortable engaging face-to-face with customers, stakeholders, and partner businesses.
• Active, savvy user of multiple social media platforms with a strong understanding of digital trends.
• Proficiency in After Effects, Adobe Creative Suite, AI generative content tools, and other modern content creation and editing software.
• Familiarity with sports, lifestyle, and experiential brands and how to translate their style into engaging community content.
• Ability to shoot high-quality video and photography.

• Bachelor’s degree; additional education may substitute for experience on a year-per-year basis.
• Three (3) years of relevant experience; additional experience may substitute for education on a year-per-year basis.

• Valid Texas driver’s license or the ability to obtain one prior to employment.
