Position OverviewThe Marketing Assistant Intern will support the development and execution of marketing initiatives that promote the organization's programs, services, and events. This position provides hands-on experience in digital marketing, content creation, social media management, and community outreach. The intern will contribute to increasing brand awareness, strengthening audience engagement, and supporting marketing campaigns while developing practical skills and building a professional portfolio.
Primary Responsibilities:- Assist in creating marketing materials, including social media graphics, flyers, presentations, and promotional content.
- Develop and schedule content for social media platforms, newsletters, and digital marketing campaigns.
- Support the planning and promotion of organizational events and outreach initiatives.
- Assist with maintaining brand consistency across marketing materials and communications.
- Monitor social media engagement and assist with tracking marketing campaign performance.
- Conduct research on target audiences, industry trends, and potential outreach opportunities.
- Organize marketing assets, contact lists, and content calendars.
- Assist with event photography, video content, and basic editing when needed.
- Collaborate with team members on creative marketing projects and administrative tasks.
Required Skills:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Creativity, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
- Ability to collaborate with a team and manage assigned tasks.
- Basic computer literacy and familiarity with social media platforms.
- Willingness to learn new marketing tools, strategies, and techniques.
Skills:
- Familiarity with Canva, Microsoft Office, or Google Workspace.
- Basic knowledge of social media marketing, graphic design, or content creation.
- Experience with photography, video editing, or digital communications.
- Interest in marketing, business, communications, or nonprofit outreach.
- No professional marketing experience or certifications are required. Training and mentorship will be provided.
Minimum Education High school / GED Experience Entry-level / early career
