Scotts Fork Christian Church Job Description Scotts Fork is an Independent Christian Church. Our core mission: lead people to Christ in the clear light of the New Testament fulfilling the Great Commission Christ gave the Apostles upon his ascension to heaven. “Where the Bible speaks, we speak.” We believe the Bible is the Holy Inspired word of God, both the Old Testament and New Testament, but that the New Testament is the exclusive book of authority.

The New Testament details all requirements for becoming a Christian and entering Heaven.

Bi-Vocational position, by this we mean the candidate would need a secondary income to supplement his salary from the Church. We also understand that we—as a church—need to be aware of the schedule and responsibilities to his other job. As with all small country churches, we are prayerful and hope that with God’s will, we would grow to support a full-time minister.

However, we are still committed to supporting a bi-vocational pastor’s needs.

• Must have a heart for serving God and His people, modeling Christ.
• Excellent organizational skills to balance church, family and secular work.
• A growing relationship with Christ and a life reflecting biblical principles.
• Meet scriptural requirements outlined in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1.
• Deliver sermons focusing on Bible truths.
• Visit the sick, church members, perform weddings and funerals.
• Participate in bi-annual meetings with Elders and Deacons.
• Since the Board of Elders and Deacons represent the church body, they will be the deciding authority on all matters as pertaining to the physical operations of the church.
• Board will be notified if for some unforeseen reason the minister is unable fulfill his obligation (e.g., sickness, revival or any personal issues).
• The starting salary will be $400 weekly and $50 weekly placed in Edward Jones account. Upon the minister’s release from duties as Minister at Scotts Fork, the monies placed in the Edward Jones account will be his. Any early withdrawal penalties will be his financial responsibility.
• Two Sundays off with pay, per annual. Board will be notified in a timely manner. Christmas Bonus: 2 weeks’ salary if funds permit

• Associate degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Proficiency in relevant software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Previous experience in a similar role.

The position is based in Lancaster, Kentucky.

• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
