Asbury University is looking for a qualified candidate to fill the open Part Time Development Services Assistant position.

Job PurposeThe Development Services and Stewardship Assistant works with the Assistant Director of Development Services to manage the information services support areas of the Development Office. This part‑time position will assist with gift processing and reporting and with responding to information requests for fundraising data. The Assistant will also work to develop and execute a comprehensive stewardship plan to enhance the relationship between Asbury University and its donors.
The Assistant will work with confidential information on a daily basis. An important part of the position is supporting the mission of the University and advancing the academic excellence and spiritual vitality of our University and students.
- Responsible for the proper acceptance, tracking, recording and reporting of charitable gifts in accordance with University policy, state and federal laws, and IRS regulations.
- Manage the tracking of annual giving and campaign pledges, including pledge and payment entry in Slate, management of digital/paper documentation, attributing to campaigns and appeals, and tracking of naming opportunities.
- Manage recurring/monthly giving and payroll deduction programs. Coordinate communication on declined and/or expiring enrollments.
- Generate reports regarding charitable gifts, commitments, prospects and donors.
- Manage communication to University departments/programs informing them of charitable gifts received for their area.
- Maintain an accurate and complete filing system for charitable giving.
- Develop strategies to improve the integrity of donor database records.
- Work with the Associate Vice President for Development to develop a comprehensive stewardship plan to appropriately thank donors and show the impact of their giving.
- Assist in creating and implementing gift acknowledgment processes and donor recognition programs for high-priority donor segments, including members of the President’s Leadership Giving Society and Cornerstone Society and first-time donors.
- Support other donor communication projects using multiple mediums as time allows.
- Assist with various development fundraising efforts as needed, including special events.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
This position requires the ability to occasionally lift items, up to 25 pounds.
Position Type / Expected Hours of WorkThis is a part-time position, and normal work hours are within Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.
TravelNo travel is expected for this position.
Qualifications- High School diploma or equivalent is required. Some college preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience required in a related field.
- Highly detail oriented with proven accuracy in data entry and analysis.
- Organizational skills including creative problem-solving, positive attitude and demonstrated success in managing multiple projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent written and communication skills.
- Must maintain strict confidentiality.
- Experience with Blackbaud’s The Raiser’s Edge or similar fundraising software is preferred.
