Residential Internships in Program Administration, Facilities, & Garden
The Occidental Arts & Ecology Center (OAEC) is hiring interns for 2026!!
Each year, OAEC hires a cohort of 6 enthusiastic interns to live and learn at our 80-acre research, demonstration, education, advocacy, and community-organizing center in West Sonoma County, CA. Interns focus in one of three departments - Program Administration, Garden, and Facilities - and have an opportunity to learn the day-to-day running of a thriving, land-based non-profit and intentional community, now celebrating its 30th Anniversary.
The 2026 cohort will begin working and living at OAEC in early February and end in mid-December. In exchange for a 24-hour work week, all interns are given a private, cozy place to live, community meals, and use of all OAEC facilities (hot tub, swimming pond, etc.) Interns also receive free participation in the OAEC Permaculture Design Course, a $750 monthly stipend, and generous vacation and sick leave.
Interns take part in the life of the residential community and participate in community cooking rotations.
