About Bee U NYC:
Bee U NYC is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing environmental education, sustainability, and workforce development across New York City. We provide underrepresented communities with equitable access to hands‑on learning opportunities in urban beekeeping, environmental stewardship, and green career pathways. Our programs combine experiential education, leadership development, and environmental justice to prepare the next generation of environmental changemakers. Through initiatives such as the Urban Beekeeping Fellowship, the Green Jobs Pipeline, and school‑based beekeeping and sustainability programs, Bee U NYC empowers youth and community members to engage with the environment, explore green jobs, and develop lifelong skills in conservation and advocacy.

Position Overview:

Bee U NYC is seeking a creative, organized, and mission‑driven Director of Communications to strengthen how we tell the story of our programs, participants, impact, and growth.

The Director of Communications will manage the day‑to‑day execution of Bee U NYC’s communications strategy across social media, email, website, digital content, and organizational storytelling. Working closely with the Executive Director, Director of Marketing, Data Lead, and program staff, the Director will ensure that Bee U NYC maintains a consistent, engaging, and professional public presence while capturing the stories of Fellows, alumni, partners, beekeepers, schools, and communities across New York City.
