The Federation supports Jews in our community, in Israel, and worldwide. Locally, the Federation offers educational and cultural programming, networking and social events, and scholarships and grants. It fosters relationships and cooperation among Jewish individuals, Jewish organizations, and the community-at-large and advocates for the Jewish community’s priorities and concerns.

Summary

The Outreach & Engagement Manager creates meaningful pathways for individuals and families to connect with Jewish life and the Greensboro Jewish community. Through programs, partnerships, volunteer engagement, grants and scholarships, and intentional outreach and follow-up, this position helps people move from initial connection to deeper participation in Jewish communal life.

The ideal candidate is both a relationship-builder and a strong program and project manager: someone who enjoys connecting with people, turning ideas into well-executed programs, collaborating with volunteers and community partners, and creating opportunities for people to find their place in Jewish community.

Job Duties

Community Outreach & Engagement

  • Develop and implement programs and initiatives that create meaningful opportunities for people to connect with Jewish life, Federation, and one another, including:
  • Maintain an intentional process for identifying and welcoming newcomers, making personal connections, connecting them with appropriate community resources and opportunities, and developing referral pathways with community partners.
  • Serve as Federation's primary staff liaison for collaborative community-wide Jewish programming, working with synagogues and other community partners to coordinate existing programs and identify opportunities for future collaboration.
  • Recruit, engage, and support volunteers and lay leaders in outreach and engagement initiatives, developing committees, advisory groups, or other volunteer structures when appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate engagement information in Federation's database, including program participation, interests, and relevant relationship information.
  • Lead Federation's strategy for engaging Jewish families with children within a broader approach to family engagement, including public-school families, grandparents, newcomers, and families who may not currently participate in other Jewish institutions.
  • Administer PJ Library and PJ Our Way, including subscription management, reporting, grant requirements, and ongoing communication with the Harold Grinspoon Foundation.
  • Develop and execute approximately 6–8 PJ Library and family engagement programs annually in partnership with volunteers and community organizations.
  • Connect families with Jewish youth organizations and opportunities, including summer camp, Israel experiences, BBYO, and other regional and national programs.
  • Develop and implement a robust young adult engagement strategy that builds relationships among young adults while creating pathways into broader Federation programs, community initiatives, leadership opportunities, and philanthropic engagement.
  • Partner with the Director of Financial Resource Development in developing Federation's young leadership initiative and, once established, support participant recruitment, engagement, and program implementation.
  • Serve as Federation's staff lead for the annual Triad Jewish Film Festival, overseeing planning and execution including film rights and licensing, venues, budget, ticketing, registration, logistics, and volunteers.
  • Staff and support the Film Festival Committee and work with volunteer leadership to select films, shape programming, and expand community participation.
  • Develop partnerships and community connections that broaden the Festival's reach within both the Jewish and greater Greensboro communities.

    Gether Hadera-Eiron and the Southeast Consortium, maintaining relationships with Partnership staff and participating communities and local volunteer leadership.
  • Promote Partnership2

    Gether programs and opportunities and recruit Greensboro community members to participate in appropriate local, regional, and international initiatives.
  • Plan and coordinate visiting Partnership delegations and other Partnership programs in Greensboro, including recurring youth and teen delegation opportunities when offered.
  • Support opportunities for Greensboro community members to connect with Israel and partner communities through missions, exchanges, educational programs, and other initiatives.
