For more than 50 years, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Lee County has delivered on our promise to provide area youth, especially those who need us most, with the support needed to reach their full potential. We operate eight Clubs across Lee County in areas of high need and currently serve over 1,400 children and teens annually.

The Vice President, Philanthropy works closely with the Chief Executive Officer and Board of Directors to plan, implement, and monitor comprehensive resource development strategies. This role supports the CEO in positioning the Board to cultivate and solicit major gifts and grants from individuals, corporations, foundations, United Way, and government agencies.

  • Provide leadership and direction to the CEO and Board in the effective execution of all development activities.
  • Ensure sufficient funding to support Club operations and program delivery.
Strategic Planning & Resource Development
  • Collaborate with the CEO and Board to develop and implement single- and multi-year resource development strategies.
  • Build and execute a Resource Development Plan with measurable goals aligned to the organization’s Strategic Plan.
  • Research and analyze corporate, foundation, and individual donor prospects and recommend appropriate solicitation strategies.
  • Identify, prepare, and submit grant proposals to support organizational priorities.
  • Oversee planning and execution of special events, including sponsorship development and donor engagement.
  • Develop and manage a comprehensive donor stewardship program.
  • Utilize donor management systems to strengthen donor relations and track engagement.
Board Development
  • Identify, recruit, and train Board members to actively participate in fundraising efforts.
  • Support Board committees responsible for development activities and initiatives.
  • Participate in the development and monitoring of the annual budget.
  • Ensure expenditures remain within approved budget parameters.
  • Maintain accurate donor and financial records in compliance with organizational standards.
  • Supervise and support development staff to ensure effective performance.
Partnership Development
  • Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with community leaders, businesses, and government officials.
  • Build collaborative relationships with youth-serving organizations, families, funders, and community stakeholders.
Marketing & Public Relations
  • Increase visibility of development activities and strengthen public relations.
  • Oversee creation and distribution of marketing and fundraising materials, including press releases and promotional content.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Ensure development of public relations materials to support fundraising and community awareness.
  • Oversee distribution of marketing and communication materials.
Relationships Internal
  • Maintain regular communication with the CEO, Board of Directors, staff, and volunteers to share updates, coordinate activities, and report progress.
External
  • Build and maintain relationships with donors, community organizations, business leaders, government agencies, and media representatives to support fundraising and awareness efforts.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, sales, marketing, or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of fundraising strategies and funding sources for nonprofit organizations.
  • Familiarity with nonprofit operations and youth development services preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and manage fundraising initiatives.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience with donor database systems and data management.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment

This role primarily operates in a professional office environment with occasional travel for meetings, events, and community engagement activities.
