Director, Arthritis Foundation Cycling ExperienceRemote from the East Coast, applicant should live in the Eastern Time Zone. Salary starts at $84,000 annually.
The Director of the Arthritis Foundation Cycling Experience (AFCE) partners with the AFCE team to support and execute cycling experiences, including revenue generation, fundraising, mission awareness activities, volunteer/committee recruitment and management, and event logistics to achieve goals. The Director reports to the National Senior Director, AFCE, and works in collaboration with the AFCE Team comprised of internal staff and external vendors (e.g., production and PR teams).
Job Responsibilities- Revenue Generation and Development Support:
Achieve all AFCE revenue goals with a focus on prospecting, securing and stewarding corporate sponsors and corporate teams, and recruiting and managing volunteers and fundraising participants. - Corporate Partnerships:
Build a robust pipeline of corporate partners, recruiting C‑suite level leadership, growing revenue through sponsorship and corporate activation, and creating integrated partnership opportunities. - Relationship Building:
Develop strong networks within cycling and arthritis communities, design recruitment and fundraising strategies, retain and upgrade donors, sponsors, team riders, and other stakeholders, and cultivate relationships with Carolina Hills Classic ridership and key supporters. - Volunteer Management:
Prospect, recruit, manage, and support CHC volunteers, and prepare presentations for Leadership Committee meetings. - Communications:
Manage event registration website, coordinate vendor email campaigns and social media plans, send post‑event communications, and manage sponsor relationships. - Office/Administrative/Logistics:
Handle reporting, data entry, scheduling, ordering supplies, submitting invoices, record keeping, and reporting, ensuring accurate and timely support. - Assess and Plan:
Monitor and evaluate ongoing fundraising initiatives, improve efficiency, engage the community, develop strategies to enhance growth, and collaborate with the CHC team on budgets and revenue plans. - Tour Support:
Travel for the annual Carolina Hills Classic (CHC) Bike Tour and California Coast Classic (CCC) Bike Tour. - All other duties as assigned by the National Senior Director.
- BA or BS degree or equivalent experience.
- 5 to 7 years of related work experience, preferably in sales or event fundraising in a non‑profit setting.
- Experience in successful peer‑to‑peer fundraising events, especially cause cycling or other endurance events.
- Proficiency in logistics and implementation of community special events and mission activities.
- Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
- Strong computer and software skills, including database management.
- Successful collaborative skills working with volunteers and other groups.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship‑building skills.
