Position Description

This full-time, hourly, benefited position plays a key role in supporting the Adult Education Program at Catholic Charities of Eastern Oklahoma. Working collaboratively in a team environment, the individual in this role manages a broad range of administrative functions and volunteer coordination responsibilities to ensure effective volunteer engagement and program delivery. In addition to overseeing day-to-day volunteer operations, this position is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to engage the broader community, foster partnerships, and promote the mission of Adult Education.

This includes strengthening existing collaborations and proactively reaching out to parishes throughout the diocese. The position is primarily scheduled during daytime hours, with occasional evening and weekend commitments required for events. Holidays are excluded.

Ministerial
  • As a ministerial representative of CCEOK, maintain professional and personal conduct that aligns with the ethical and moral standards of the Catholic Church
  • Pray daily for the needs of the poor through personal prayer, daily Mass, and/or adoration
  • Be willing to learn and apply Catholic teaching in this role
  • Help foster a shared culture of ministry across program operations and management
Leadership
  • Take ownership of the Adult Education program's vision by actively aligning daily responsibilities with long-term goals and CCEOK values
  • Continually evaluate the evolving needs of the Adult Education Program and offer thoughtful recommendations for improvement
  • Embody the qualities of an ideal team player by consistently demonstrating humility, strong work ethic, and a collaborative spirit in support of shared success
  • Contribute to a mission-driven culture by staying engaged with program objectives and recognizing how individual efforts support collective impact
  • Demonstrate accountability and initiative in advancing team goals, identifying areas for improvement, and supporting strategic priorities
  • Actively engage in team discussions and planning efforts to ensure program strategies are informed with real-world insight
  • Maintain focus on excellence and continuous improvement by seeking feedback, sharing ideas, and staying attuned to evolving program needs
  • Recruit, engage, and retain volunteers for the main campus and outreach education sites to maintain standard volunteer numbers and provide supplemental coverage
  • Collaborate with Adult Education staff to identify and develop potential volunteers, enhancing their experience within the program
  • Facilitate volunteer onboarding and placement within Adult Education
  • Support and train new and existing teachers to ensure their success in teaching
  • Manage and prioritize communications—including phone calls, emails, messages, and mail—from internal and external contacts related to Adult Education volunteering
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Education volunteers, maintaining comprehensive knowledge of program operations, staff, schedules, policies, and procedures
  • Maintain the volunteer calendar and update the Volgistics database to ensure accurate tracking of volunteer hours
  • Regularly communicate with volunteers to foster a sense of appreciation and integration within the team
  • Assist the program manager in coordinating volunteer orientations, trainings, and appreciation
  • Collaborate with the Volunteer Engagement office to align and coordinate volunteer
  • In partnership with the department manager, maintain and build relationships with local organizations and Catholic parishes to establish new sites for program offerings
  • Become the point of contact for volunteers at the new program sites, regularly communicating and providing support for volunteers
Community Engagement
  • Represent the Adult Education team as needed in all volunteer-related functions
