What You'll DoAs the Managing Director of Area Development
, you will lead local fundraising efforts, donor engagement strategies, and community partnerships that accelerate the CHS mission.
- Manage and grow a portfolio of major donors and community partners
- Secure philanthropic investments that advance CHS strategic priorities
- Lead fundraising campaigns, donor stewardship initiatives, planned giving efforts, and special events
- Develop innovative strategies to increase revenue and community engagement
- Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors at all levels
Build Meaningful Community Partnerships
- Serve as a visible ambassador for CHS throughout the community
- Strengthen relationships with business leaders, foundations, civic groups, and philanthropists
- Partner with regional boards and community stakeholders
- Create opportunities for donors to engage directly with CHS leadership and mission impact
Lead and Inspire a High-Performing Team
- Recruit, develop, coach, and support Development Team members
- Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Establish and monitor goals that drive fundraising success and organizational growth
Steward Resources and Measure Impact
- Track fundraising performance and ROI metrics
- Ensure excellence in donor stewardship and CRM management
- Partner with Finance and Data teams to ensure accurate reporting and compliance
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Public Relations, Sales, or a related field
- 5+ years of professional fundraising experience
- Proven success developing donor relationships and securing gifts
- Experience leading fundraising initiatives, campaigns, and community engagement efforts
- Demonstrated leadership and team development experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with fundraising software and donor management systems
- Knowledge of philanthropic trends and best practices
