Living Redemption Community Development Corporation (LRCDC) is an independent Harlem-based nonprofit, dba Living Redemption Youth Opportunity Hub (LRYOH). Founded in 2019, LRCDC exists to catalyze Central, West, and East Harlem’s homegrown “Credible Messengers,” who are part of the broader Credible Messenger and Transformative Mentoring Movement. With a mission to Save Lives and Heal Communities One Relationship at a Time, LRCDC provides Credible Messenger–led mentoring, community outreach, and a holistic continuum of programs and wraparound supports for Harlem’s most vulnerable youth and families and select communities across New York City.

POSITION

Living Redemption Community Development Corporation is hiring a Training Specialist to play a key role in LRCDC’s Fatherhood Program by facilitating parenting skills training, leading support groups, and coordinating peer support relationships and family events. This position is responsible for equipping fathers with the tools and knowledge to strengthen their relationships with their children and communities. The Training Specialist will also collaborate with program staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality, impactful services.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Facilitate parenting skills training sessions using evidence-based curricula, such as Pro Fathering
    15 and Supporting Father Involvement (SFI).
  • Lead support groups to foster community among participating fathers, alumni, and volunteer fathers.
  • Coordinate and implement family events and activities, such as workshops, retreats, and community projects.
  • Develop and maintain peer support relationships to encourage ongoing engagement and mentorship among participants.
  • Collaborate with Family Development Coaches and other program staff to align training and support activities with individual service plans (ISPs).
  • Track participant progress and outcomes, ensuring alignment with program objectives.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations to the Program Director to enhance training and support services.

EDUCATION PREFERENCE / TRAINING REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, education, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience facilitating training or workshops, preferably in family development or community engagement.
  • Intermediate level of computer proficiency (ability to multi-task through multiple applications including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain partnerships.

COMPUTER SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), ability to learn other software as required.
