The Neurodiversity Alliance is a national nonprofit dedicated to ensuring that every neurodivergent young person has a place to belong, lead, and thrive. We believe neurodiversity — including ADHD, dyslexia, autism, and other learning differences — is a source of strength, creativity, and innovation. Yet too many young people grow up feeling isolated, misunderstood, or pressured to hide who they are in order to fit in.

We exist to change that.

The ND Alliance hosts the largest online community of neurodivergent young people, and offers deeper connection, skill-building, and leadership opportunities through:

• A national network of neurodiversity clubs on high school and college campuses
• Scholarships for neurodiverse students
• Paid internships with intentional development opportunities for neurodiverse young professionals
• National awareness campaigns and virtual events hosted in our online app
• In-person events, including our National Neurodiversity Leadership Summit, supported by The LEGO Foundation

Every program is designed and led alongside neurodivergent young people, ensuring that lived experience shapes everything we do.

Under the leadership of new CEO Jesse Sanchez, himself a program alumnus, The Neurodiversity Alliance is building on real momentum, expanding into new markets, growing and elevating our ND speaking ambassador program, and building our brand as a national leader in the neurodiversity movement.

Founded in 1998 by David Flink — a 2021 CNN Hero and 2025 Elevate Prize honoree — our award-winning near-peer mentoring program has empowered more than 12,000 students over the past 25 years.

The Neurodiversity Alliance received the 2026 Platinum Seal of Transparency from Candid . In 2025, we were named a Leading Disability Employer by the National Organization on Disability, in recognition of exceptional disability inclusion practices and policies across the employee lifecycle. In 2023, we were named a Best Nonprofit to Work For by The Nonprofit Times.

The Vice President of Development is a strategic leader, major-gift fundraiser, coach, and relationship builder who partners closely with the Chief Executive Officer, Board of Directors, and executive leadership team to shape the future of philanthropy at The Neurodiversity Alliance.

The Vice President will lead the organization’s multi-year fundraising strategy; guide and coach the CEO and Board in major-gift fundraising; and build a strong individual-giving program spanning annual, major, transformational, and planned gifts. This leader will personally manage a portfolio of high-capacity individual donors and prospects while ensuring that the CEO and Board are well prepared for cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.

The Vice President will build upon the expertise, relationships, systems, and institutional knowledge of the existing development team. The role will provide strategic guidance and executive-level support while preserving clear functional ownership across the department. In particular, the Vice President will partner with the Director of Development & Donor Relations.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, Jesse Sanchez, and working closely with Executive in Residence, Maya Enista Smith, this full-time, FLSA exempt position is expected to work an average of 40 hours per week remotely from anywhere within the contiguous United States, though preference is given to those located in the Tri-State Area. The typical workweek is Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm ET or 8am to 4pm PT, with occasional overnight travel and limited evening and weekend hours required.
