Position Title: Community Liaison (Part-Time)
FLSA: Non-exempt (hourly)
Hours: 16–20 hours/week
Compensation: $15/hour
Reports to:Allen County Program Manager (day-to-day), Program Director (oversight)
Primary Worksite: The HIVE II (Allen County) with community-based travel
Position PurposeTo develop and steward relationships with individuals, organizations, and businesses in Allen County and surrounding areas to increase visibility, strengthen referral pathways, and build community support that sustains The HIVE II programming.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesCommunity Outreach & Relationship Building
- Identify, contact, and cultivate referral sources and partner organizations (schools, libraries, health agencies, nonprofits, civic/faith groups, employers).
- Schedule and conduct outreach meetings; maintain consistent follow-up and stewardship.
Partnership Development
- Coordinate partner involvement in programming (guest speakers, collaborative events, shared resources).
- Support the development of volunteer and in-kind engagement opportunities.
Visibility & Storytelling Support
- Collect and document partner interactions, success stories, and community needs (with appropriate consent).
- Support staff with basic outreach materials distribution and community communications as directed.
Tracking & Reporting
- Maintain simple outreach logs: contacts made, meetings held, next steps, partnerships launched, referrals generated, sponsorship/in-kind leads.
- Provide a monthly summary of outreach activity, outcomes and recommendations.
- High school diploma required; associate/bachelor’s preferred (communications, social work, nonprofit management, community development, marketing).
- 1+ year experience in community outreach, volunteer coordination, customer relations, or nonprofit engagement preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, reliability, and discretion.
- Proficiency with email, calendar scheduling, and basic data tracking.
- Frequent local travel; ability to set up booths/materials; lift/carry up to ~25 lbs.
