Enrollment Advisor
- Maryland Community Outreach

We are seeking a mission-driven Enrollment Advisor
- Maryland Community Outreach to help expand access to clean, affordable energy for underserved communities. As a key member of our Partnership Team, this Part-time, field-based role (20-30 hours/week) is at the heart of our community outreach strategy.

You will attend informational and enrollment events hosted by our local partners to help their clients understand and sign up for Community Solar. Beyond executing scheduled events, you will proactively build upon existing partner relationships to uncover new enrollment opportunities and expand our local footprint. The ideal candidate blends the empathy of a community organizer with the execution skills needed to secure enrollments on the spot.

You must be comfortable navigating diverse community settings, building trust quickly, and guiding people through the enrollment process.

This role requires flexible availability, including evenings and weekends, to align with community events. While highly autonomous and field-based, you will stay aligned with leadership through weekly virtual or in-person managerial check-ins. Top performers will have the opportunity to transition into a full-time position.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Event Execution & Enrollment: Participate in Ampion and/or partner-identified community-based events; lead tabling events, provide educational workshops, or programs designed to educate low-to-moderate-income residents about community solar, and actively drive on-the-spot enrollments.
  • Customer Guidance: Walk subscribers through the qualification and enrollment process in person, utilizing provided technology (e.g., tablets) to ensure a seamless experience.
  • Partnership Development: Cultivate relationships with partner community-based organizations (CBOs), faith-based groups, non-profits, and local government agencies, acting as a program ambassador and the face of Ampion at local events.
  • Underserved Population Advocacy:
Collaborate with partners to develop tailored strategies to reach historically marginalized communities, ensuring outreach materials are culturally competent and address specific barriers to entry (e.g., language, trust).
  • Activity & Metric Tracking: Achieve monthly enrollment targets and track leading indicators of success, including the number of events attended, materials distributed, and leads captured.
  • Ability to travel to events that may be anywhere in Maryland and neighboring states. Ampion will cover travel expenses for approved events, including mileage, and hotel stays, if applicable.
  • Ability to transport light tabling materials (up to 25 lbs) and stand for extended periods at events.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: 1-2 years of experience in community outreach, field marketing, canvassing, or a customer-facing role with a track record of achieving goals.
  • Mission Alignment: A deep commitment to clean energy equity and a passion for working with underserved populations.
  • Communication

    Skills:

Strong public speaking and interpersonal skills. Ability to explain technical solar concepts in a simple, persuasive manner and quickly build trust in diverse settings.
  • Cultural

    Competency:

Experience navigating diverse social and economic landscapes with empathy and authenticity.
  • Technical Savvy: Proficiency with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive) and basic CRM data entry.
  • Education: High school diploma.
  • Preferred Experience:
    • Working with or participating in a community-based organization or non-profit organization; community leadership and organizing is highly desirable.
    • Bilingual (Spanish or other local community languages).
    • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Social Work, Communications, Public Policy, Public Health,…
