Lead Pastor - North Country Alliance ChurchNORTH COUNTRY ALLIANCE CHURCH (Lead Pastor)
Plattsburgh, NY
North Country Alliance Church was founded in 1980 by a small group of believers who desired to see an Alliance church established in Plattsburgh, NY and the North Country. Plattsburgh is the commercial and population hub of the northern Adirondack and Lake Champlain region. The city is large enough to have colleges, healthcare, restaurants, schools, shopping, recreation, and regional influence, while still retaining a small-city and rural North Country feel.
To the east is Lake Champlain, with Vermont and the Green Mountains visible across the water. Burlington, Vermont is accessible by ferry or northern route travel. To the north is Canada, with Montreal close enough for day trips, airport access, cultural opportunities, and international connection. To the west and southwest are the Adirondack Mountains, including Lake Placid, the High Peaks, hiking, skiing, paddling, camping, hunting, fishing, and year-round outdoor life.
The geography matters because ministry here is not only urban or suburban. It is regional. People live spread out across towns, villages, farms, lake communities, and mountain communities. A pastor coming to North Country Alliance Church should understand that the North Country combines rural culture, college-town dynamics, cross-border influence, outdoor life, and deep local identity.
We are a multigenerational church family with a faithful core of believers who care deeply about Scripture, worship, missions, children, and the spiritual health of the church, and are actively looking for the man God has in mind to serve as our next Lead Pastor.
We believe this pastoral search is not merely about filling a position. It is about discerning the shepherd God is preparing to help lead this church into its next season of faithful ministry.
A Humble Biblical Shepherd
We desire a pastor who leads as an under-shepherd of Christ. He should be humble, teachable, prayerful, accountable, and willing to serve rather than seek status. He should love people, care for the flock, and model Christlike character.
A Faithful Preacher and Disciple-Maker
We desire a pastor who faithfully handles God's Word and equips believers to follow Jesus. He should be able to preach and teach with clarity, conviction, warmth, and doctrinal faithfulness.
A Leader Who Embodies Biblical Eldership
We desire a pastor who embraces biblical eldership and works well within a plurality of qualified elders. He should build trust, welcome accountability, develop leaders, and strengthen the church’s capacity for ministry.
A Mission-Minded Pastor
We desire a pastor who shares the Alliance heart for deeper life and mission. He should carry a burden for the lost, value local and global missions, and help the church live as faithful witnesses in the North Country and beyond.
