Museum Administrator

Are you a self-starter with a passion for history and community storytelling? The La Pointe-Krebs Foundation is seeking an energetic and organized Museum Administrator to oversee the daily operations, preservation, and community outreach of our historic site. In this dynamic role, you will serve as the face of the museum—welcoming visitors, leading tours, managing enthusiastic volunteers, and helping our historic landmark grow.

• Daily Operations:
  Manage visitor services, coordinate the museum gift shop, and oversee light daily maintenance to keep our historic grounds secure and beautiful.
• Community Engagement: assist in running our social media channels, assist with fundraising, and share local Pascagoula and Jackson County history in compelling, creative ways.
• Office & Financial Management:
  Handle daily bookkeeping, budget preparation, and administrative tasks using software like Quick Books, Excel, and Word. [1]

• A deep interest in local history and the ability to connect warmly with the public.
• Excellent writing skills with experience or strong interest in grant writing and social media marketing.
• Basic financial management skills and general computer proficiency.
• A collaborative team player who builds strong relationships with our Board of Directors and local organizations. [1]

• Schedule with standard daytime hours and some weekends and nights for special occasions.
