The PositionThe Youth & Worship Pastor is a full-time pastoral position with a primary focus on youth ministry and responsibility for leading and developing the church’s worship ministry. We are looking for a relational, spiritually mature leader who loves students, cultivates authentic, intimate congregational worship, and equips others to serve.
The anticipated weekly allocation is approximately 30 hours for youth ministry and 10 hours for worship ministry.
This role centers on developing people and building healthy ministry teams. The pastor will recruit, equip, organize, and empower volunteers and ministry leaders while ensuring that ministry responsibilities are carried through.
Youth MinistryProvide spiritual, relational, and organizational leadership for students in grades 6–12 and their families.
Spiritual Formation & Weekly Ministry
- Develop and lead engaging, biblically faithful weekly youth gatherings that help students understand and practice the Christian faith.
- Help students develop habits of prayer, Scripture, worship, service, and Christian community.
- Create opportunities for students to encounter and respond to the Holy Spirit, and teach and model Vineyard Kingdom ministry, including the Five-Step Prayer Model
Relational Discipleship & Family Ministry
- Build meaningful relationships with students and their families, providing appropriate pastoral care, encouragement, prayer, and discipleship.
- Partner with parents in their students’ spiritual formation and maintain consistent, effective communication with students and parents.
- Connect students with the broader worship, community, service, and mission of the church.
Outreach & Growth
- Develop an intentional strategy for reaching students who are not connected to the church through school, community, service, and relational outreach.
- Create a welcoming environment where students feel comfortable inviting friends, and provide thoughtful, personal follow-up with first‑time students.
- Equip students to naturally share their faith and participate in the mission of Jesus.
Camps, Events & Ministry Development
- Develop an annual youth‑ministry calendar and plan and lead camps, retreats, service opportunities, outreach events, and social activities.
- Maintain safe, organized, and effective ministry systems, applying principles from Sustainable Youth Ministry in ways appropriate to the church’s size and context.
Lead and develop worship that helps the congregation encounter and respond to God. Pursue musical excellence, prepared teams, and sensitivity to the Holy Spirit while keeping congregational participation central.
Sunday Worship & Production
The Worship Leader provides primary leadership for Sunday morning worship and oversees the production teams and systems that support the service.
Responsibilities include:
- Plan and lead congregational worship on Sunday mornings.
Select songs that fit the Vineyard tradition and the ministry direction of Lake Norman Vineyard. - Collaborate with the Senior Pastor regarding sermon themes, special services, and worship direction.
