Descriptive Summary

The Manager of Individual Giving is responsible for growing and strengthening Cornerstones’ relationships with individual donors through effective cultivation, stewardship, and donor engagement strategies. Reporting to the Chief Development and Engagement Officer, this position manages a portfolio of individual donors and prospects, supports fundraising campaigns, and leads efforts to retain and upgrade donors.

The Manager of Individual Giving also supervises Development Associate staff and oversees the systems and processes that support donor engagement and individual giving operations. The ideal candidate is a relationship-focused fundraising professional with strong communication, organizational, and management skills.

• Manage a portfolio of individual donors and prospects through personalized cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
• Develop strategies to retain, upgrade, and deepen relationships with individual and recurring donors.
• Identify opportunities to move donors through the giving pipeline and refer qualified major gift prospects to the Chief Development and Engagement Officer.
• Conduct donor outreach and meetings and maintain meaningful relationships with supporters.
• Ensure timely and meaningful donor acknowledgment, recognition, and follow-up.

• Collaborate with the Chief Development Officer and Director of Marketing to develop compelling donor communications and fundraising materials.
• Track campaign and donor engagement results and identify opportunities to improve retention and revenue.

• Develop and implement a comprehensive donor stewardship program that provides meaningful opportunities for donors to connect with Cornerstones’ mission and impact.
• Coordinate donor communications, impact updates, recognition opportunities, and engagement activities.
• Support the planning and execution of donor cultivation and stewardship events.
• Partner with program and communications staff to identify and share compelling stories of impact.

• Supervise and provide day-to-day direction and support to Development Associate staff.
• Establish clear priorities, workflows, and expectations to ensure effective development operations.
• Provide training, coaching, and performance feedback to support staff growth and success.
• Oversee processes related to donor data, gift administration, acknowledgments, reporting, and development operations.
• Identify opportunities to improve systems and processes that support fundraising and donor engagement.

• Maintain accurate records of donor interactions, cultivation activities, and next steps in Raiser’s Edge NXT.
• Utilize donor data and reports to inform portfolio management, donor engagement, and fundraising strategies.
• Work collaboratively with development, marketing, program, and organizational leadership to advance individual giving goals.
• Represent Cornerstones at donor meetings, community events, and engagement opportunities as appropriate.

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Three to five years of progressively responsible experience in fundraising, donor relations, account management, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience building and maintaining relationships with donors, clients, customers, or other stakeholders.
