The Associate JCRC Director, Education & Civic Engagement works with the JCRC Director to advance local community relations priorities,with a particular focus on K–12 antisemitism prevention and response, educational partnerships, community education, and business, civic, and community engagement.

The Associate JCRC Director will build sustained relationships with schools, educators, businesses, civic leaders, and nonprofit organizations throughout Northwest Ohio; develop educational resources and trainings; and help partners recognize, prevent, and respond to contemporary antisemitism. The position will also expand the Federation’s capacity to strengthen Jewish inclusion, foster meaningful community relationships, and respond to emerging issues affecting Jewish students and the broader Jewish community.

The position full-time,non-exempt position with Jewish Federation of Greater Toledo (JFGT) and reports to the JCRC Director.

With an annual operating budget of approximately $5milliondollarsand more than 30 professional staff, JFGT serves as the central address for Jewish life, philanthropy, and community services across northwest Ohio and parts of southeast Michigan.

  including annual Yom celebrations, Book and Film Festivals and other community events
• Toledo Jewish Community Cemetery Association
  operating 2 cemeteries

The JCRC hasabudget of $340,000+ and serves as a vital division of JFGT.

Toledo’s Jewish community is “small but mighty,” sustaining three synagogues (Reform, Conservative, Orthodox) as well as Chabad.

The city’s cost of living is among the lowest in the country.

The city offers cultural richness through the Toledo Zoo, Toledo Museum of Art, and Mud Hens baseball, and is within easy reach of Ann Arbor, Detroit, Cleveland, and Chicago.

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• Three to five years of relevant experience preferred in education, community relations, nonprofit work, Jewish communal service, public affairs, or a related field.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
• Experience working with K–12 education, businesses, civic organizations, or nonprofit/community organizations preferred.
• Knowledge of contemporary antisemitism, Jewish identity, Holocaust education, or bias response preferred.
• Ability to communicate thoughtfully and effectively about sensitive and complex issues with diverse audiences.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple relationships and initiatives.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with the JCRC Director and Federation colleagues.
• Availability for occasional evening and weekend programs and local travel.
• Residency within 20 miles of JFGT offices.
• Availability for some evening and weekend (non-Shabbat) events.

• Jewish community relations and navigating polarized political environments with nuance and tact.
