Licensed Practical Nurse - Urgent Care Muhlenberg

Provides direct patient care under the direction of a registered nurse, nurse practitioner, physician assistant, or physician.

• Contributes to the assessment of patients by collecting data for review.
• Administers medications and observes patients for adverse reactions.
• Evaluates learning needs of patients and families and provides education based on age, culture, and willingness to learn.
• Performs job duties in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act.
• Might triage patients and refer to a clinician if needed.
• Might relay information to patients.
• Might carry out orders by the prescriber as it pertains to the patient needs.
• Might perform administrative/clerical duties in support of the clinical department.
• Might perform plan of care interventions.

• Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.
• Works under general supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• Applies more advanced skills and knowledge in their area of specialization.

• Work Experience: No experience required.
• Education: High school diploma, GED or higher required upon hire.
• Licensure/Certification: LPN – licensed practical nurse, eligible to practice in Kentucky, required upon hire; BLS – Basic Life Support certified within 45 days of employment.
